"In Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, 
there is a back road known locally as Piggery Brae, 
it runs between Greenlees Road and Cairns Road.

One evening our group were discussing a name for the band...
Fergi digressed and spoke of his courting days at the PiggeryBrae...
PIGGERY BRAE....now there's a name said I ....
we all laughed.....and PiggeryBrae it was!"

In 1558, the Hamiltons of Schawfield sold the land of East Greenlees to John Mayne, Goldsmith, Burgess of the City of Glasgow. There were houses built from the 17th century, the photograph below dates from the 1890's showing one of the old thatched houses....in Piggery Brae
